The above map shows common aggregates specific to US regions. Choosing the right cup wheel for your cutting application is important. Application, equipment, price, quality, size, and job need to be considered to get the best use and life out of your diamond blade.
The bond of the blade must also be determined to mater the application for use. Hard, dense materials require a soft bond, while soft, abrasive materials require a hard bond.
It is important to match the cup wheel with the right grinder to extend the life of the diamonds. A grinder with a high rpm spin speed could promote heat increase wear. A 5,000 to 6,600 rpm grinder is recommend for 7 and 9 inch units. While 4 and 5 inch grinders commonly have a high 11,000 rpm.
Vacuum units are equally important during the concrete cleaning process. Using a low grade vacuum will cause dust and debris to become airborne during the process. A vacuum with a self cleaning vibration, offers low noise levels during operation and good continued suction will aid in extending the life the diamond cup wheel, operator production and prevent the release of harmful concrete dust into the workplace.
